What the choice changes
Faction choice affects the context in which a character begins and participates in conflict. Coordinate before creating characters if you intend to play with friends. Do not assume a feature available in one instance applies to every open-world or competitive activity.
Mixed-faction activities
The Korea Guidebook states that selected instanced activities, including Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary content, can support parties containing both factions. This is a scoped exception, not evidence that faction boundaries disappear everywhere.
